Hi, I am wondering if anyone can help me here. I have a neighbor who moved into the building next to mine sometimes in spring last year. He seems to be constantly at home (so am I) and our balconies are very close. He is always outside the building smoking or on the balcony smoking and often speaking on the telephone. I attempted to ignore him at first but I often keep my windows open and the cigarette smoke would come in and then I would know he is outside. I also often hear him speaking on the phone. Something I have observed over the years is that when I have a profound experience, I have to be very careful about how I share the story of it to other people. Some stories told just the right way in the right context to the right folks feel like I've actually shared the story without diminishing it. But other stories, when I share them, seem to lose their potency for me on a personal level. I find myself wondering if other folks experience this and why such a thing occurs?

I am 53 and have never had any type of visions until recently. The first one was a couple of months ago. It was a pyramid with water flowing under it. The next one came a bout two weeks later. It was just a bunch of squiggly lines moving all over the place. The to my left, a very large eye opened out of nowhere. It looked around at the lines and then at me. Hi, I am wondering if any changes occur with sleep as you advance in your Shamanic practices. For instance, did frequently practicing Shamanic journeying or other altered states of consciousness (including lucid dreaming) make you more/less wakeful throughout the day? Did it increase/decrease the amount of hours you slept each night? If so, were you practicing other techniques alongside it such as meditation? I have been experiencing seeing multiple people including my deceased wife in my living room mirror for over 9 months. It all begins when I go to my bedroom at 11 pm at night. I see my wife every night along with other people in groups. If anyone reading this, has or presently is experiencing similar phenomenon , please let me Know. I have a rather odd request. In my early days of shamanic learning, I was gifted a simple wooden box, obviously hand made, and well seasoned from the elements. Over the years, I have placed in it my tools of the craft. I lovingly call it my spirit box. It has served as an altar at different times when I felt the need to practice the craft. I've read Makers don't really work with animal spirits. From reading and from my experience, I understand why one might choose not to. But I wonder, then, why there are several exercises that involve working with rocks. Why work with rock energy and not animal energy? I could extrapolate my own answers, but I'd like to know the reasoning of Maker folks, if people don't mind sharing.

What is the Makers view on the Afterlife? I have come to accept reincarnation as very probable, but I've noticed that most cultures that hold to this view also want to get off the rebirth merry-go-round. I have a feeling that the after-death state is way more complex than we usually think and has many cultural elements. In my experience I found that among those on their spiritual path there are quite a few that had all sorts of spiritual abilities but were not able to wrest control away from their mind/ego. Being able to do the latter is for me awareness - i.e. awareness of me being aware; for example being able to hear yourself think without being the thinker (Lots of "beings" :-) ). To me this ability seemed to be more important, especialy when applied to wordly encounters or situations -but seemingly impossible to do all the time.
